Show Jumping Distances & Stride Calculator

Related distances for show-jumping lines — set hand height, see stride zones, and check BS/FEI spacing. Same maths as the course designer. Covers one-stride and two-stride related distances, bounces and combinations, adjustable for stride length, take-off and landing.

How many strides in a related distance?

A horse's canter stride is roughly 3.5m; allow about 6m for take-off and landing across two fences. So a one-stride double is commonly ~7–7.7m and a two-stride ~10–11m, shorter for ponies. Use the calculator to set your horse or pony's exact stride.
