Drawing a Shape on the Course Plan

Most competition arenas are rectangles, but schooling tracks often follow loops, dog-legs, or partial perimeters. YardForge supports several ways to draw the shape of the ridden line rather than only straight chords.

Custom arena outline

For non-rectangular rings, open Arena → Boundary in the designer and trace a polygon. Validation and grid snapping respect the usable interior so fences stay inside the fence line.

Curving the ridden path

  1. Turn on Course path and Path control points in View.
  2. Click or double-click a leg to add a connector; drag to bow the stride path.
  3. On long legs, hold Alt while clicking to add a second connector for sweeping loops.

The rideability guide and stride labels follow the curved foot path automatically.

Trot-pole arcs

For schooling layouts, place a trot-pole row obstacle and use the arc handles to bend a pole fan around a corner — see polework exercises for training examples.
