YardForge release notes: 25 October 2026

A short week-note for what’s live on YardForge right now. YardForge is in beta. Free during beta, nothing on sale.

This note covers changes that went live between Monday 19 and Sunday 25 October. Anything we couldn’t confirm on the live site isn’t in here.

A Rules bar in the Designer

There’s now an always-visible Rules bar in the Designer. Pick Practice, FEI, British Showjumping, USEF or another rule set in one tap, without digging through menus.

British Showjumping courses stay British Showjumping

Switching rules now swaps the whole set. A British Showjumping course no longer picks up FEI classes, heights or warnings, and BS height classes from 80 cm to 130 cm are there to choose from. We’ve also renamed Schooling to Practice.

Typing decimals just works

Fields like spread now take 1.6 or 1,6 exactly as you type it, without jumping to a different number.

Check course is more honest

A Fix button only shows when it will actually clear the problem. Where it can’t, you’ll get guidance on what to change instead.

Better on phones

  • In portrait on a phone, the guest bar no longer sits over your course.
  • GPS Jumps now has a Cancel/close button, and asks before throwing away an arena you’ve mapped.

Events page

  • Show calendar filters are fixed, and public show links open properly.
  • The old /show-calendar address now takes you straight to /events.
  • We’ve removed links to a demo show that no longer exists.

A plain beta pricing page

The pricing page is now a simple beta status page: free during beta, nothing on sale. Home and pricing use the same beta wording, and we say beta everywhere on the site. 3D is described as early access for selected beta accounts, and free beta PDFs carry a small watermark.

Smaller tidy-ups

  • Softer, easier-to-read greens across the site.
  • /help and /faq now take you to our course design help centre.
  • Our “what else we’re building” page has a new name: One login for the whole horse week.
  • Saved hack routes now keep only the trimmed public track, not the raw GPS points.

Hard-refresh if a tab still looks stuck after an update.

Still in beta

  • YardForge is free during beta. Nothing is on sale and there is no live PayPal.
  • The designer is a planning aid. Check final distances against the rule book and your show’s course designer.
